A landmark deal has been reached between major truck and engine manufacturers and the California Air Resources Board, aligning California's truck emission rules with federal requirements set to start in 2027. In return for relaxing existing standards for nitrogen oxide pollution, manufacturers will meet the state's zero-emission vehicle targets. The impacts of this agreement could extend beyond California, as other states often adopt the state's pollution rules. This development has considerable implications, especially for fleet management and operational strategies.
