Autonomous trucking startup Kodiak Robotics has partnered with Loadsmith, a freight transportation platform, to deploy 800 self-driving Kodiak-equipped trucks. Loadsmith's newly established Loadsmith Transportation will be primarily focused on autonomous trucking, with Kodiak's trucks acting as the base for its autonomous network. The trucks will function on Loadsmith's predefined freight routes and hubs, while human-driven trucks will manage local pickups and deliveries. The initial set of Kodiak-equipped trucks is expected to be delivered in the latter half of 2025.
